Hi, there!
I just thought it might be helpful to explain a little more about my book rating system. I use a star rating with 5 stars being excellent and 1 star being terrible.
I also give my books a verdict:
- “Must Read” means that I thought this was an excellent 4.5 to 5 star book.
- “Worth a Read” usually means it was a pretty good book ranging between 3 and 4 stars, but was not my absolute favorite thing to read.
- “Not Worth Reading” means the book is below three stars and not something I enjoyed or it was so bad, I could not finish reading it. Fortunately, I have not read a book with this verdict so far!
I also try to include quick details about the book if you are skimming and just want to know the main highlights. These will be short phrases like “Family Drama” or “Mystery/Thriller” to describe the book’s concepts and overall themes.
At the end of every book review, I also include a list of books that are similar that you might want to read or may have already read, to determine whether the reviewed book is something you will (or won’t) enjoy.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this! I hope this is helpful in understanding my rating system. If you have any suggestions on what you would like me to include in my book reviews, please feel free to comment and let me know!
